Navy and Copper: Stephanie and Christopher's Stunning Invitations

We couldn't wait to post the photos we documented of Stephanie and Christopher's invitation assembly. Their fall wedding is going to be so gorgeous with all the dark navy blue and copper accents. Not to mention all the bling that she's adding throughout. This bride chose a custom metallic navy blue pocket folder that is only offered by Paper Crew. The thermography on the invitation and enclosures shine on top of the ivory metallic card stock. When closed the invitation reveals the guests' names adorned with more rhinestone embellishments. The entire package fit into a metallic copper No.10 Envelope. The copper accent will match the linen at the reception, and the bling will be scattered throughout the wedding ceremony and reception. We can't wait to do the rest of the stationery, like programs, place cards, signs and more, as well as the see all the beautiful photography from the day of.

Hot Pink and Chic!

This entry is long overdue. Kristianna and Bryan created a Damask Wedding with a twist and a little bling! With the creative genius of Vanessa from V3 Events, their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! This wedding has been featured on several blogs: Inside Weddings and California Wedding Wave. Gavin Wade Photography captured all the details of this beautiful day in the Laguna Cliffs of sunny California.

The absolutely stunning 4 panel accordion pocket folder Damask invitation. Included the couples engagement photo as well as metallic invitation layered and wrapped with a satin ribbon and adorned with a rhinestone buckle. The reception card and directions continued with the theme while the rsvp card displayed the fun loving side using animal characters for food choices. The bride received her responses in a hot pink metallic envelope complete with a custom Damask stamp design. Wrap up the whole invitation with a belly band saying:

"Together we laugh, we dream, we love, and on this day, we marry..."

Color coded ribbon let the waiters know what food choice each guests requested. I must say that I was quite impressed with the way Vanessa and her V3 team set up the escort cards. So unique and beautiful!

Extra special place cards for the Bride and Groom:

Damask Menus mounted on Hot Pink metallic were tucked into each napkin.

Photo Shenanigans provided the awesome photo booth and provided the couple with this awesome favor. We completed the package with a label and ribbon closure. Such a great favor idea from Photo Shenanigans!

Beautiful Spring Damask Invitation

I had the pleasure to work with Jamie on her entire stationery suite for her Spring Wedding. Jamie's invitation featured a black linen silver foil printed invitation mounted on a green accent cardstock and then mounted again on a metallic white cardstock that carries her damask design printed in black thermography. The invitation definitely carried a "wow" factor.

Joanne & Dennis Los Angeles Wedding

I'm so happy to be blogging about this couple. My dear friends Joanne & Dennis were married last November 2010 at the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church located in downtown Los Angeles. This is one wedding that I was lucky to be a vendor for and still had the honor to be able to attend as a guest. Which, unfortunately is rare. I'm used to just making all these extravagent stationery items then having to say bye, in hopes that the bride will share pics on Facebook or even better email them to me.
Joanne is a natural at planning. I can't believe what she was able to pull off in 6 months time. Her dress and shoes were so beautiful. I love-love her shoes! I really hope she finds another occasion to wear them because they are too adorable to be kept in the closet.The reception was absolutely beautiful. Her ideas and Dennis' attention to detail really paid off and showed on their special day. The lighting, centerpieces and small stuff like bubbles on their first dance were all stunning. Take a look at this picture that Callo Photography captured of their first dance. Isn't it like they are really on cloud nine? I adore this picture.
Paper Crew did all the stationery starting from the Save the Date magnets that were tucked into a mini pocket folder with Accommodation information. This was just the Save the dates!
I never got around to taking a full shot of the entire wedding invitation package, but it was gorgeous. Chocolate brown with accents of champagne metallic paper and lavender ink. The invitation was set in a pocket folder which was enclosed by a satin ribbon and laid into a beautiful box with a custom address label band. Inside the pocket was yet another folder sealed with a band titled, "Wedding Information". Inside were accordion steps for each bit of information.
The drawing just doesn't do it justice. I'm gonna have to take pictures and write a whole other blog about it soon. The reception stationery that I'm especially proud of are the Picture Teepee Escort Cards. Four rotating pictures of Joanne and Dennis' engagement shoot filled the personalized escort tee pees. These were such a hit and so darn cute! You can find similar ones to these available on our Paper Crew Etsy store, which was feature on the knot.com! "Eat, Laugh, and Drink at table..." typography on the back side, frame bracket pictures with names of your guests on the front side. These teepee lay flat and are not flimsy like the regular standard tent cards.
Isn't this such a great escort table idea. "live-laugh-love" frames in the background helped put together such a sweet table. I'm so glad that I busted out with my old iPhone to take these pictures.
Joanne just gave us the inspiration and we just ran with it. I get carried away sometimes, but when I see pictures of all the hard work, it's so worth it. I don't even have any pics of the custom menus, table numbers, gift card 3-tier box, or programs to really show all the details. This was such an adorable way to get the smaller kiddos down that aisle. Paper Crew provided a sign that said, "Here comes the bride" on one side and "Just Married" on the other.Look at this cake from Rossmoor Pastries. I have always had a hard time watching them take the first cut when the cake it this grand. It looks too nice to eat. And below you'll see Paul and I attempting to model for our "Thank" and "You" signs that we created for the photographer to take with the bride and groom holding them. Perfect to use for thank you cards!
Can't wait to post all the upcoming Valentine's goodies. Happy 2011 everyone!

Bat Mitzvah Fashion Reception

Paper Crew had a blast providing Juicy Couture inspired items for Carly's Bat Mitzvah this month. Everything turned out wonderful!
We took the original Juicy Couture logo and customized it to fit Carly's Fashion Reception.
Complete with "Carly Couture", and the Love, G&L are the parent's initials. I had to pat myself on the back for this one...

Of course matching menus:
The centerpieces were adorably unique. I love it!
The table numbers were made to look like bags as well. They were such a great accessory for the table's centerpieces.
You can't have a fashion theme without the runway! This was a great addition.

I think that the highlight was these adorable escort bags. 3x3 bags with the table number card and candy inside. Who's gonna throw these customized bags away?

Austin Unveiled and My Creative Wedding products by PAPER CREW!

I've got a whole list of things to blog about, so I'm a little late posting this.
But I'm really excited and proud to say that we were featured on STYLE UNVEILED - AUSTIN's BLOG.
Kristy and Charles had such a wonderful theme and with rich chocolate brown and apple green accents in their wedding invitation. The rest of the stationery coordinated with the invitation and as you can see, everything turned out just lovely. Especially when photographed by THE NICHOLS, the wife and husband photography team based in Austin, Texas.
Everything looks great together. From the menu to the table tent numbers and reserved bridal tables.
The programs were staggered pages mounted on the apple green and tied with a rich satin brown ribbon. Just gorgeous.

And what would be more complete at a wedding in Texas without a cow cake!

The Secret Is You Got To Coordinate!!!

To me, one of the funniest scenes is when Pops from the movie Boomerang talks about coordinating. I've preached to my brides his same philosophy...THE SECRET IS YOU GOT TO COORDINATE!

It doesn't stop at the invitations, move on to every detail of the wedding as if it was every opportunity to coordinate. Menus, Programs, signs, water bottles, linens, dresses, invitations, and more.
I had the opportunity to attend a beautiful wedding reception at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Beach this weekend. The grounds were simply spectacular.
Paper Crew supplied the coordinating stationery starting at the ceremony with the sewn program books.
Then off to the ceremony where the guests pick their name from the table of escort envelopes. Most of you refer to this more as "place cards", but actually, Escort Cards are the cards that have your name and tell you which table to sit at. Place Cards are the cards on the table telling you which EXACT seat to sit at. BUT, Escort Envelopes are mini envelopes with your guests names printed on the front of the envelope and enclose a card with the table number inside.

This is perfect for brides that are not 100% on the seating arrangements and need the option to be able to switch tables in the last minute without compromising the custom look and feel. The mini escort envelopes are not sealed and the back top flap is used as a tent to be easily displayed.
Then to the table...unfortunately I only have one blurry picture taken with an iPhone but as you can see EVERYTHING coordinates. Table names instead of table numbers, the napkin tuck menu, and the charity card all carry the same design that was presented to the guests on their invitations. The bride and groom named their tables after all the places that they wanted to travel to together. The sweetheart table was Florence, Italy, where they are going for their honeymoon. Another helpful tip when using table names vs. table numbers is to include a seating chart of the reception area showing where each table is located. That way your guests get to their seats with ease and without having to go up to each table to view the table card.

I'm so excited to share the programs that my girlfriend and I just completed tonight.
She's getting married this weekend with color combinations of orange and blue. I really can't wait to share with you all the wonderful coordinates that match. Like the escort card envelopes, table name cards, and menus. PAPER CREW did for her wedding.

Program books feature an Orange cover that pops with the blue thread. These adorable little booklets are 6 pages and a custom tag saying, "true love" sewn along with the bind. Just love everything about it. Who's next? Let's do this same theme with Damask fabric and hot pink or apple green thread! So giddy thinking just about it.
Gonna have to bust out the sewing machine and come up with more things to sew on paper! Paper Crew has done it again!

Fall Brown & Olive Damask Wedding

I know that there is so much hype about letterpress. But when you take a look, and feel the orchids popping out of the paper it's hard not to be impressed. The thermography printed orchids look as though it was freshly painted on.
Our Cymbidium Orchid Invitation Set was featured on a previous post. To see the difference between our illustration and the real deal view our previous post here.
Custom maps are always a nice detail.
This invitation was done in Vietnamese and English. It's always a sigh of relief when you find out that your stationer can do multiple languages. If you can't find anyone to accommodate you, let us know...we can do it!

Rhinestone Buckle Invitations

It was a gorgeous wedding. The blushing bride was ohhhh and ahhhh at as she walked down the aisle at Park Privé in Costa Mesa. The Rhinestone Buckle Invitation was enclosed in a custom pocket folder with double metallic paper layers. Coral satin ribbon was fed through a gold rhinestone buckle to complete the look. Gold leaf Thermograhy printed with a custom floral design was echoed throughout all the wedding stationary. Everything was beautifully put together.

I just received this picture from my wonderful bride, Claudette who is getting married in Maui, Hawaii this weekend! BAMBOO SCROLL INVITATIONS

One of my favorite clients is getting married in Hawaii. Her unique style comes out with all her different requests for stationary and so of course we make a good pair! My Creative Wedding has really customized her stationary to every portion of her wedding.
From bridal shower invitations and favors to Rehearsal reminders...we've done it all for her. And we are eager to share them with you in a future blog.
Her invitation scrolls were rolled in cut bamboo poles and tied with satin lagoon ribbon. The island of Hawaii shows in the background as a watermark on the scroll. All the destination information was in book form with a tear out response postcard. All of this was added in the box that the invitations were packaged in and sealed with a metallic address band. Perfect package for her guests to receive for a destination wedding.

Last month we had a booth setup at Lifetime's Wedding Couture show. I of course forgot my camera. These picture were taken via iPhone, so excuse the blurriness. My Creative Wedding did all the stationary for the tables, to include menus, table numbers, place cards and signs. One of our favorite tables on show was the "Old Hollywood Glam" table. With all the rhinestone work and black and white theme. It was such a beautiful table.

Damask Wedding (Amy and Jack) on THE KNOT!

One of our most organized brides, Amy is featured as a real wedding on the knot! Amy's colors were black and white damask with apple green and fuchsia accents. She had so many great details (Patricia Lyons Photography) and a great photographer to capture them.

The Cymbidium Orchid Wedding Invitation Set

It doesn't stop at the orchid invitation. You got to have the orchid menus, the orchid table numbers, the orchid place cards, the orchid program fans, orchid water bottle labels, orchid CD favors, it's endless! Even though it seems like design overload, by making your theme consistent throughout your event, you set the tone of your wedding, and it will actually look like you put some thought into it!
The Cymbidium Orchid is commonly used in weddings. The delicate petals and exotic colors add appeal to this flower. So if you are using this flower in your wedding, consider it for your stationary! This design was originally created for friends of ours that got married in 2007. She simply gave us a picture that she took from the internet: Then I designed her invitations around that picture. You might have seen this design in previous blogs. The original invitation was printed flat on a 4-color printer on top of white canvas paper to bring out the Cymbidium design. I was never able to do this same design in thermography or letterpress until now. The new design is now a 3-color design and will be printed in thermography. There is a 2-color version for those who would like to splurge for letterpress. Don't forget to complete the look with all the other details. Below shows it displayed in our exclusive My Creative Wedding A7 pocket-folder in a matte fudge chocolate. Our folders come in any color. You pick the paper from over 3000 swatches! The envelope features our unique "Over the top" Invitation Address Labels, shown here on metallic paper, consistent with the paper used for the invitation. This label wraps over the top of the envelope (hence the name) and includes your return address as well as your guests' names and address. I simply give you an excel spreadsheet to follow. You fill it out and email it back to me. Your envelopes will come addressed using the same fonts and design as your invitation! We have a reception set that includes: menus, table numbers and escort cards or place cards. The reception set is a great add on to any invitation order. You will be surprised to see that you can add these details for less than you thought. I know that below is a cheesy Photoshop picture of our menu on a place setting. But imagine what this would look like without it! Did you spend all that photography money to show nothing but white linen?! Jazz up your tables with a little design. Your white tables and photographer will thank you for it!The escort cards/place cards are also printed with your guests' names and table number, even entée. There is another excel format that I have you follow that will merge to all the cards. Another time saver if you were planning on writing them yourself, or even better another money saver if you were planning on spending the average $1.00 each for caligraphy!

Don't forget about that ceremony program. The boring letter half programs just don't cut it anymore! Do you have a flower that you'd like to make program fans out of? Shown below is an orchid program fan. Back side shows the coordinating orchid design and the front is the program information. Spruced up with different coordinating ribbon. Now tell me if your guests will throw this away? I think not!By now you just can't stop yourself. You want EVERYTHING to coordinate! Offer your guests water bottles with your custom Cymbidium orchid design. They'll be so overwhelmed that you thought of something so small and praise you for your attention to detail. Believe it or not...water bottle labels start at $0.35 each. That's right folks...add that to your order while you're at it!So your guests get the awesome invitation, then go to the wedding and fight over the flower program fans, then take a sip of water from the water bottles with your custom labels, they go to your reception and see their name on the coordinating escort card, find the table with the matching table numbers, go to their seat with the matching menu...by this time they are believers that you do this for a living. Of course the favors would match! The CD comes in a fudge chocolate pocket with a cute little saying on the paper band. The CD itself matches the theme...yet again. Add your song list to the back of the pocket or even on the CD! Do what you want...that's what we're here for! Tweak it to the left, make it green, add more flowers, take some out. Modern Tropical Wedding Invitations

A cousin of a dear friend of mine is getting married in one of my favorite vacation spots, CANCUN! Her colors and inspiration are dreamy, modern, sophisticated and tropical that all blend into a gorgeous wedding theme.
Her colors are a deep fushia, orange, mango and silver. Completely out of the ordinary and yet so beautifully complimenting. Her invitations will be enclosed in an antique silver pocket folder. The invitations will printed on brilliant white cover stock to bring out the brightness of blends in the flowers. The invitation and folder label is backed with orange cover stock to compliment the fushia in the flowers. I love this invitation and everything about it. The Ultimate Damask Wedding

I rarely get to see pictures of My Creative Wedding products in action, so when I received an email with pictures from a recent wedding, I was thrilled! My Creative Wedding did the programs, menus, table numbers, favor labels and sign design for this wedding. It was gorgeously put together by Avril from Update Events all the way in Canada. Her client's Damask theme was accented with a cymbidium orchid green.
Damask programs were handed out to her guests and followed the same damask pattern.

A beautiful damask sign to escort the guests to the ceremony site was designed by yours truly. The welcome table was beautiful. Avril's florist did a wonderful job with the entrance piece. Did you notice the black and white pok-a-dot flowergirl box? Too adorable! I'm gonna have to make a damask one for my next damask wedding! She hung placecards on the entrance piece, which I thought was smashing!
Look at the bridal party's table below. It's so pretty, how can anyone eat on it? The reception tablecloths alternated from black to the damask pattern and the table numbers carried the same color scheme. The napkin tucked menu with the little flower accent was beautiful! Her pillow box favors packaged with black and white grosgrain stitched ribbon and My Creative Wedding damask favor labels were simple and chic! I love how the pillow box is not EXACTLY the same green but a lighter version of her color. I also love the square plate setting. I love everything about this wedding!

French Royalty Damask Design

When the customer asked for a rich color palette using a variation of purples and gold, I was so excited! That happens to be my favorite color combination right now. We wanted a feel of French royalty using a lot of print and playing with damask prints, brocades and florals. Off to the drawing board I went! It was a sweet treat when my client told me that I nailed the design on the first try! C'est magnificant!

My Creative Wedding's new custom damask design that was done for Elegant Events by Maureen in Texas.
The programs were done with metallic apple green paper, held together with black satin cord. The unique shape was consistent with the invitation and the design was made to match the damask cake. Damask Gable Boxes were also made, containing 2 damask labeled water bottles, snacks, CD for music, a welcome card and directions to the reception.

The welcome cards that were included inside the gable boxes gave information on local restaurants and entertainment. I'm sure that her guests were impressed by the details that were executed throughout the wedding.

The beautiful contrast of Yellow and Silver Invitations

We have been doing a lot of yellow and silver/grey invitations lately. I love the contrast of the yellow and grey.

Her invitations were packaged in a thick metallic dark grey pocket folder. The invitations had custom drawn flower accents that made it the invitations pop!

The custom drawn flowers were drawn from a picture of cymbidium orchids and changed to her coordinating colors.

The Carnival Wedding Theme

So on lucky 08.08.08 we delivered carnival centerpiece/favors for one of our unique brides Tiffany. Each centerpiece was different. Colorful hat boxes in different shapes and sizes and mix and match colors of fushia and navy blue were topped with ferris wheel frames, merry go round frames and a tower of favor boxes. The frames featured different pictures that they took at the Santa Monica pier. The frames were fully functional and turned, twirled and spinned.
Her table numbers were in the shape of flags.
Her escort cards were the cutest little detail. They were tickets with the guest's names on one side and the table name on the other. The tables were carnival themed, like "Tilt-a-Whirl", "Bumper Cars" and "Snow Cones".

VERA WANG DRESS FOR SALE

I think that I'm finally ready to part with my Vera Wang wedding dress. Mind you, this isn't the one that wore at my wedding! This is the first dress that I bought that I never wore! Purchased it from a gal in New York that wore it once. I never ended up wearing it because we originally were suppose to marry in a church and I fell in love with the bustle. I still wore a Vera Wang for my wedding but I don't think I'll ever sell that one! :) I purchased this Vera Wang wedding dress for $1800 and I'm willing to let it go for $1200 or best offer. The original price was $5500!

The "White" Wedding Invitation - Revised.

My Creative Wedding gets a lot of people who comment on how bad invitations used to look. "Just white invitations with no color and plain. Just blah." White invitations aren't so bad. There are so many different shades and textures of white. It can look just as fabulous as green and pink! Here's one white wedding invitation for Johanah. White metallic paper mixed with a variety of textures. From white lace to white canvas paper! Thermography printed with not black ink, but dark mahogany to match her black (really really dark red) roses.

Invitation Boxes!

A few weeks ago we delivered wedding invitations that were absolutely gorgeous!
A square pocket fold invitation tied by a double faced satin ribbon and presented with a label. The wedding invitation opens up to reveal the invitation backed by the same stock of the box and three inserts which included an RSVP postcard. The boxes were handmade from 160lb double thick stock mahogany cover.
And finished off by custom printed address label bands that were in the same green metallic stock of the pocket folds. Couldn't let this one go without taking a few pictures!

We LOVE the Great Bridal Expo!

My Creative Wedding has a soft spot for the Great Bridal Expo. We have been vendors at these wedding conventions since 2005! Our last show at the Anaheim Convention Center and the Los Angeles Westin Bonaventure was a huge success! We met so many enthusiastic bride and grooms that can't wait to get there creative juices flowing and start the invitation process with us! Destination Wedding Invitations

The best part of the summer wedding season by far is doing destination wedding invitations! Last summer my maid of honor got married in Cancun, Mexico. It's beautiful there! Crystal clear water, white powder sand, blue skies...the all inclusive resort and all you can eat and drink isn't too shabby either! It was a great time for all our close friends. For her wedding My Creative Wedding made a destination wedding invitation book! Her invitation came complete with a map of the island and an itinerary.
She had so much information that she had to pass on to her guests: accommodations, itinerary, wedding info., excursions, etc. We managed to compile it all in a RSVP postcard!

When the guests replied with a check next to "will attend", we sent out matching luggage tags so that all the guests from the bride and grooms side will know that they are there for them!
My Creative Wedding can use themes from the destination. Take this example:

And I've got a new one getting married in Brazil this year. Her family is from Brazil, her fiancé's family is from Chili. They met in Florida. Three languages, one RSVP card, one email address! Brilliant!

Custom Program Fans

Summer weddings are coming!!! And the biggest item on the list this year is program fans. One bride from Napa, California wanted to copy one that she saw in a bridal magazine and have it match her theme. What a delight these program fans will be for the guests to use in the hot Cancun sun.
And some others...
This one has 3 layers of paper on a ribbon wrapped stick. The nice thing about this is that it really is a great fan! It's sturdy and isn't for the one time use.

There aren't too many people that do wedding program fans, but what you will see are the basic Popsicle stick with different paper shapes on them. Or even the traditional Asian fan style with a brad on the bottom let the paper fan out.

Damask Galore! My Creative Wedding has got so many requests to blog more damask designs, so here you go. Enjoy!

If you see your name it's because these were sample invitations waiting for the perfect bride and groom to pick them out of the invitation pound. When I have design ideas, I want to draw them out before I forget, so I go down my address list of relatives and close friends to use for the names. They enjoy seeing their name up in print! Isn't the mint green and chocolate brown combo so scrumptious. I don't care what anybody says about chocolate brown being "so last season"...I love it! I used it a lot for all the past fall weddings. This invitation is 5x7 and has a 3x5 invitation book attached to the main damask cover stock. The book can open up to reveal all the other information, like directions, hotel accommodations or reception information.

This invitation is too cute. The way the green and blue pop off the black and white damask is just perfect! And love the different font used. Casual but not tacky. The same damask design is used for the envelope lining. The colors in the invitation played off of the invitation paper backing and the envelope color. Perfect for a destination wedding that doesn't want to feel too stuffy.

A yellow card stock and damask pocket. Perfect to hold not only the invitation, but all your inserts. The invitation pulls out to reveal the same damask design printed on the card.
And how about a tropical Damask design? This invitation folder is gate folded to reveal the invitation centered in the opening.

And last but not least...dedicated to my little cousin Carla who is about to turn sweet 16...a damask purple invitation, wrapped in a silver damask clear film, tied with a purple velvet ribbon and complete with a crown tag.

Amada Wedding Preview

Using trim for invitations always adds a little elegance and interest. The invitation is double matted and pulls out of the lace trim. The RSVP envelope hides behind it. Dark chocolate brown canvas paper adds more texture. Simple, elegant and just beautiful.
The table numbers, favors, place cards and menus can all carry the lace trim detail throughout the wedding reception.

The couple is from Boston, MA. She has a "present" theme. Which I thought was different. And in this industry, different is great!

Creative Favor and Placecard Combo Ideas

Loved this packaging idea for our summer bride.
She decided that she wanted her place cards and favors all in one. We took this and packaged pear and strawberry jelly belly's in a clear purse box lined with the same green paper that she used for her invitations. Finish it off with a hot pick bow and "WA LA!" a burst of cute-ness!

Damask Invitations Galore!

This year is definitely a damask invitation year! They're beautiful. There are linens to match and the whole theme is seriously gorgeous in a ball room.

And I love this new cherry blossom invitation that I'm doing for one of my brides that will be getting married in Hawaii. She called it her Nacho Libre colors...I call it a breathe of fresh air!

My Creative Wedding Invitations and Pole Dancing?

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Colette owner of OC Pole Fitness in Aliso Viejo. My girlfriends and I like to do different things and yesterday had a private session with Colette. I do admit that I was a little embarrassed at first and didn't know what to expect, but Colette tricked us! We basically got one heck of a workout and didn't know it! It works out your core and arms and builds your strength. It increases your flexibility, improves your posture and burns fat! She mentioned to me that they do a lot of bachelorette/bachelor parties. This would be an awesome class to take your bridesmaids. It was fun, different and I actually got a great workout! Whatever my initial thoughts were about "pole dancing" couldn't be more wrong. To all the brides out there...go see Colette in the OC!!! She's awesome! You are not being taught by a professional stripper. This girl has an MBA, two beautiful girls and teaches self confidence in women who take her classes. My girlfriends and I can't wait to take our next class!

Close but it's no cigar

I finished a wedding invitation layout for a bride. It's close but no cigar. Back to the drawing board! (Shucks...I guess I get to design another one...she didn't have to twist my arm or anything) Since she didn't want it...any takers?!
Oh!!! And my favorite photographer: jamie of {jac} sent me some photos of a set we did for CJ and Stephen.
I love the contrast that her black and white programs and placecards have with the deep red roses. Just beautiful!

We had a booth at the Bridal Showplace held at the Queen Mary.
This was the first time my brother joined us for the show.
I met a lot of new people that I'm happy to say that I'll be doing their invitations! During set up, Paul saw a friend of his that he hasn't seen since high school. His friend happened to be the son of the lady that runs the Bridal Showplace! What a small world.
Today we delivered two sets of invitations. We finished Jenny Lee's Lemon-Lime invites:
And we finished Elma and Kenny's spring larch pochette invitations:
They were on a tight budget for wedding invitations, but wanted didn't want to sacrifice design. This invitation was a good choice for them. The invitation flips up and the RSVP and directions are in the inside. The RSVP postcard is perforated so the guests just rip it off and send it in.

The wedding invitation industry is really evolving. The designs that were different 2 years ago are common and old. This month and next I'm going to be concentrating on my first love: design. I've been wanting to close the door and redo my boards for a long time now. There are so many invitation sets that have been completed that are not even displayed! Shame on me!

Love all the modern changes to wedding invitations recently

People always ask me about different wedding invitation etiquette. But others really just want what they want. It's nice that the little ideas that are outside the "etiquette" comfort box have become more accepted. Otherwise we'd be out of business, and worst...everyone would have white invitations with black thermograph printing, a bunch of loose cards in an envelope separated by tissue paper! Unique, creative ideas and color is what inspires me.

The first official blog!

I am extremely excited to start this blog! I get to post all the updates with our business. I can talk about things to come and orders that are being filled, and chit chat about conventions that we're attending and people we meet along the way. It'll also be a way for brides to view all the different designs, paper swatches and wedding ideas.

This week we delivered custom letterpress pok-a-dot invitations. They're gorgeous! We love that we can custom our pockets. Print on them, emboss them, hot stamp, foil...you name it! It can all be done!

The flat design doesn't do it justice. Can't wait to take a few shots of the whole set! She ordered custom wedding invitations and a lot of coordinating items like matching table name cards, and placecards. Each one is a unique item.
